I'm excited. I just got myself a DM-MD6x1 and DM-TX-300N for less then $150 total.

This completes my office AV system in terms of hardware. Does anyone know of a cost effective AV 15U rack that maybe even double as a place to put the TV on top of?

That's pretty sweet. That's basically an HDMI selector, right? That's cool that it's a DM product, so you can use DM Tools with it. I just got an HD-MD8x2, because I wanted to be able to send HDMI to my main TV and my bedroom as well. $200, brand new in an unopened factory box.

It's amazing to me how cheap Crestron gear is nowadays. If you know how to use the stuff, you can do a LOT for practically nothing. I got a 4x100 amp for $50 the other day. 2-series processors...they just show up at my doorstep from my AV buddies who take them out.

I have an MC3 and MLX-3 running my place right now, and that's the setup I tinker with. I'd like to play with an HR-150, as well as the app, but I need to get an iPad and keep playing with the smart graphics.

Yes it is a full fledged first generation digital media switcher. The reason it was inexpensive was because it's discontinued, only 1 output and it can't support the 4K DM devices being released. For now though that is alright for my needs especially considering the price.

I have a collection of different 2 series and Ni processors or testing code. I'm going to use my AV2 for control and the Crestron App on my iPad mini.

I'm a certified Crestron programmer and renewing my certification for AMX. The parts are indeed inexpensive if you know what to look for and don't mind gear that is a few years old.

That said I like the 3 series processors a lot because of SIMPL Sharp but I'm not spending thousands on just the processor in my house. :)

There's an MC3 on the bay right now for $325 - and that's 'buy it now'! That's crazy, when you consider what that thing is capable of.

I bought a PAC2 and a PAC2M for $165 total. Just missed an MC3 for $100. A dealer clearing out stuff.

Super score. A PAC2 is a handy service item! They usually last a really long time, and the only ones I've seen that were damaged were lighting strikes. But that'll get you out of a bind. A dead PAC2 on a weekend is a REAL bummer.

Just an FYI - If you come across a 300w power supply that's not outputting 24V, you may be able to fix it a MeanWell SP-320-24 that's a direct bolt-in for it's internal power supply (yes - the power supply inside the power supply...)

You do know that switcher only has 1 HDMI input as well? The other inputs are component and DM so you will need DM transmitters just to feed it more than one HDMI input.

Looking at the 2, $150 might not be that good of a deal.

Yes I am aware. You are talking about input 3. I am using my Apple TV 4 in that position where I can use CEC to control it instead of IR.

I won't be using the first two inputs. It really for my purposes is a 2x1 to a 2x1 switcher which scrounges me a 3x1 switcher. Maybe next pay period I'll pick up another two and make it a more true 4x1 switcher to have the full range of the digital routing capabilities available to me but I couldn't do that just now.

At this time I have three HDMI sources and if I had the money I'd buy another DM-TX-300N but I can work around the limitation with the separate analog joins for video and audio on the transmitter and use it like a 2x1 switcher. Where my Xbox 360 can use the HDMI so it can pass the audio and my Pioneer Elite Blu-ray can pass the video over HDMI to DVI and the audio also comes out the stereo RCA (no surround in the office just yet, working up to it in the future when it relocates into the media room).

Digital Media is expensive. This was a good deal. At some point I'd love to be able to get ahold of a DM midpoint like a 8x4 or 8x8 but those are still in the realm of thousands of dollars before you start populating them with the cards needed for the application.

I'm a Crestron dealer, I know how much they cost. I sell them to all my customers.

The one you have is old DM, needing 2 Cat5 as well.

I realize it needs two cables and I realize it is old. However for the price it's specs are adequate.

I know what I'm doing picking out the parts but working on a budget. Being a dealer you know how much these items cost.

For instance a DM-MD8x8 list price is $4,300. A DM-MD6x4 list is $3,800. I realize that the markup is a lot and I could get it cheaper but not that much less expensive.

I was thinking about getting the DMPS-200-C but the transmitters that are supported by it where much more expensive even used.
