Sounds like an IP address conflict. FING can help dig these out.

After shutting down everything on the network, restart from the router out. This usually resolves duplicates -- unless you're using some fixed IP addresses that need to be managed.

Is there a difference between wired or wireless?

All devices on fing. All looks good. Just no internet for this device. Rebooted router, have to disable adaptor then enable internet returns. Must be done in that order.

Is this laptop wireless? There have been reports of certain wireless access point-client combinations causing this. Which access point are you using? (It's not specifically a W10 issue)

Using Firefox?

I have more damn problems using Firefox that any other. When it work properly, it's fine, but when it wants to block everything under the sun, it's a complete PIA....

Assuming the router reboot is because your laptop wont connect (but other devices do)...try the airplane mode button to disconnect and reconnect.

One obvious divide and conquer test would be to just leave the laptop hard connected for a couple days and see if the problem goes away, assuming that's even an option on laptops these days. If the problem goes away, it's down to the wireless connection. If it doesn't, then it's more likely some more general network configuration issue on that machine.

Check the power supply on the router. Not so much with the WRT series, but with the newer Linksys I check the power supply voltage first, then start troubleshooting. With an intermittent or drooping power supply, you can have issues that don't make any sense and you'll spin wheels for days, re-booting this 'n that trying to figure out how things are mis-configured. If I know that there is a Linksys router, I'll make sure that I have a power supply with me on a service call.

I had a problem with my ATT gateway power cycling intermittently and the droid in Tech (non)support swore that the wall wart couldn't/wouldn't cause that problem. I got the new one and subbed the wall wart, finding that it DID cure the problem.

I have to question power supply. All other devices work. Internet connection seems stable now. I think it is the machine at this point. I can not install software for new printer by download or disc. This pc worked so well on 7.

I've had a similar issue with my W10 notebook. Rebooting router solved the issue when it stopped connecting but my current work around is to forget the wireless network and re-add. I have yet to find a permanent solution...

I'd backup all of your files and force a clean installation of win10. You do not need the media to force a clean installation, you can do it from settings.
