We will be stopping by a job tomorrow that is about 5 years old. RTI system 10 zones.

One zone is the Master Bedroom that can access local bluray and basic ol school cable (internal tuner). Remote used to raise TV lift, control sources, etc. Well Time Warner now requires Digital Converter or Full cable boxes to be used and we dont have room in the cabinet for a full size cable box (all thats currently being offered). We only have the space for the small converters. No problem except I can find codes.

We have done a few of these converters for kitchen TVs etc but have never been able to find codes for them. If I remember properly they are IR.

Any ideas a code set that might work?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm using Scientific Atlanta 3250 user IR code I created about 10 years ago to control them through Crestron. These are Cisco converter boxes

If anything like Brighthouse, which was basically running piggeyback on TWC software the DTA's work with either the small DTA remote or the remote from full size STB. Of course only ch up/down and numeric keys do anything.
That being said, if you have used the full size you probably have the codes.

What's the brand and model number of the Digital Converter Box TWC uses at your client's home? Because some TWC divisions use Cisco & Arris equipment while other ares use Motorola equipment. I have an older Cisco DTA box and my regular TWC DVR Atlas remote controls it, as does my MX-890 (using the same code set as my former SA8300HD and current Cisco 2-tuner and Arris 6-tuner DVRs).

And recently TWC started deploying newer models that are RF only (no IR window) so you can hide them behind stuff, and they can't be controlled by the regular IR remotes that come with their DVRs and Cable Boxes. I recently ran into this when my mother-in-law had to get a DTA box for a bedroom TV and her big lighted TWC remote from the living room wouldn't control it. Turned out the box is RF only. I noticed her box had a 3.5mm jack on the rear labeled "IR" so i connected an old IR Receiver and the box now responds to her big lighted remote (the little one that comes with the DTA is crappy and her 91 year old eyes can't see it).

Maybe different software or hardware than I have. I am not sure the model number of the cisco digital adapters but I can assure you I am using a SA 3250 IR driver to control the box. It's connected to my DM room boxes.

Soon to change since Charter took over TWC. Charter does not use DTA's. Soon, new customers of TWC's market will only be getting 2 way full size boxes. Those with DTA's already will slowly be switched over to full size as well if they make changes to their account and DTA's are no longer available.
