Well.....you take a product that is $8000....you somehow make one that is better and "Ford trusts", for $500. Boom! Magic!

Then one day, after the warranty expires, you turn the thing on and it hums, squeals, or buzzes....sometimes the smoke comes out.

But they did make some cool servo controlled subs for car audio back in the day. Those are worth some coin on the used car audio market. :)

They've been doing it for a while- I recall seeing (a video) of it in action on an Apache a few years back.

Considering the way Ford tends to use the cheapest electrical connectors and terminals (and have for decades), the $500 version should be prefect. Maybe someone can retro-fit this into a Pinto, so they can have a self-driving toaster.
