I'm putting the finishing touches on my office and I'm remotely locating my computer in the rack downstairs so all I have is two monitors. (Or one big one) I would love to have my computer wake on lan or bootup when I hit the keypad button.... I wanted to do this for another job of mine too but didn't have he time to figure it out for him.

Thoughts?

I know the down and dirty way would to just tie the button onto the contacts on the EA5 and mother board but would prefer a LAN solution if it exists! My PC is running Windows 10

Thanks!

Why not just use Windows WOL?

Houselogix has a WoL driver for C4. I've never used it, but it should work.

Can you write your own driver with c4? This is an easy driver to write with URC.

I read it as "hit keyboard button" not keypad.. That explains the need for c4 driver.

You can, but I haven't dived into IP drivers

My computers always wake up when I click the mouse or hit a button on the keyboard. What kind of esoteric PC do you have that does not have that feature? Does it say Festool on it? :P

It does lol! I just would like to have my PC on when I sit down! It would also be cool to just have my PC go to sleep when I turn the lights off but that seems like it's more complicated todo...

I think I may just wire the contacts from the EA5 into the MOBO to do all this for me!

Message Kevin with Blackwire and see if he can help. He is very good with C4
