We don't do much surveillance so I'm a little ignorant with some of these details. Customer wants doorbell cam "like Ring". Will install NVR for several other cameras in house. Wants the following:
View door remotely with iPhone. Receive notification when doorbell is activated - allow talkback. Add doorbell cam feed to unused channel on NVR. Lock/unlock deadbolt remotely with app. Wants above deadbolt to also have numeric keypad for keyless entry.
Does Ring or Doorbird(or other) meet all requirements? Is there any NVR that should be considered or avoided to ensure it can be integrated? Which deadbolt integrates best? What other interface is required for deadbolt control?
House is being gutted so any wiring requirements can be met. Thanks for any insight.

The only way to get all of that is to use Doorbird and House Logix new Driver for it.
The only thing you might get stuck with is the NVR feed. Probably not going to happen with a "closed" solution like these though. there may be a way to hack the feed but thats above my paygrade. Probably easier to just put a dedicated camera for that feed!
you could use the C4 Door station but it doesnt allow talkback via iphone (yet) I think house logix has a driver for that too but ill have to check.
Of course this all assumes you are a C4 dealer...

Run a catx. I'll be releasing a solution soon that is meant for dealers and comes with real support and shipping in America and no bugs or constant driver and firmware updates needed to make it work.
It will work on iOS and Android remotely. Control4, RTI and URC to start with and is onvif complaint so it will work with most nvrs

Control system involved or is this all stand alone?

For product available now, doorbird would be my vote. There are onboard terminals to tie in door strikes, etc. Single Cat cable for Ethernet and Poe.
Already has native iOS and android apps with 2-way talking and a door button available on the GUI for control.
IP stream is available for recording to the NVR.
If you go with one of zigbee or zwave door locks, not sure how you would tie those in without a control system.

Doorbird. Getting the feed onto an NVR is possible but could be a challenge. This guy got the feed into a software NVR. [Link: reddit.com]

I hate how commercial all of these dor stations look! C4 had a good looking one that matched most outside decor, then they made the most commercial modern looking door station out on the market! :(

Here's my writeup on Doorbird (best integration product so far w/ standalone app). [Link: cepro.com]Here's a comparison of all the DIY-type doorbell cams at ISC. [Link: cepro.com]Channel Vision now has a standalone SIP solution with its own app. They've been great to the channel all these years. [Link: cepro.com]Lilin will introduce doorbell cam at CEDIA.

Backing up just to looking at the Doorbird for the moment, today's experience has been: *Using an iPad for the app is problematic because the RING part of the bird is hugely important, but an iPad doesn't play very loudly. Installer has suggested we get some bluetooth speakers.... *The Doorbird has a dry pair that you can use to ring a ringer inside the house. That's a plus. *I've asked elsewhere ( [Link: remotecentral.com]) if an iPad can be set up to go to sleep per normal timing, but open the app without further button pushes or swipes.

I've been using Mobotix lately, which has been pretty good. I needed something I could run about 1000' over existing wiring, and their stuff worked well. The T25 door station and keypad module is what I used, and sounds like what you were asking for. Also, they do have RFID card readers as well as integration support for C4 and Crestron.
I had to also use numeric keypads to open gates from inside the property and ended up using a third party device...no matter though, worked like a champ.
