I just heard about this yesterday. It's another streaming service box but I don't get how they provide all the content legally for "free", especially the new stuff.

Or is the content in SD, are there ads on the streaming content or some other crap?

Thanks.

There's nothing legal about it. It will get shut down and you'll have a nice $400 paper weight.

"The ISTV Box does not download, host, provide, archive, store, or distribute media of any kind. It enables users to access Internet media streams already available on the Internet and is 100% Legal."

I'm sold !

It's totally legal. They say it is, so it must be true. Who's first?

You're right. I totally forgot that everything on the internet is true! Stupid me.

I've got to order some canned Antarctic ice to cure everything that ails me!

I might buy one if they throw in some Arctic ice and essential oils. They need an 'HDMI Cure' oil you can rub on the cable.

There has to be some catch. The only reason I heard about it is by meeting with a guy at a friends house yesterday that is friends of the owner of the parent company. They are local and this guy has one. It just seems too good to be true.

I'll see if I can check one out to play with or just go to his house and see what the deal is.

These boxes are legal today. Kinda like designer drugs. No one anticipated a device like this so no laws were made to make them illegal. I would imagine this loophole will be closed pretty quickly.

...or you could buy a Fire TV Stick for $40, install Kodi for free and have the exact same thing for a lot less money.

Using streaming software like Kodi is free and easy. It's the installation of Add ons like Exodus to get content that may be dubious. Exodus itself is not illegal but probably using any means of watching movies still at the theaters and the latest TV shows from any network without paying is probably suspect.

I purchased one of these hacked Apple TV's off Ebay once - just curious about it. It had Kodi loaded on it with a bunch of other apps. Yeah, you could find free main stream moves, but it was always a crap shoot in terms of whether links would work, and the picture quality especially varied hugely. Not to mention funky errors and all the rest of it.

At the end of the day, if someone has spent $100 million dollars to produce a movie for my entertainment, I can pry open my cheap ass pocket to pay $6 to watch it. It's a bargain as far as I'm concerned.

Not sure why people self righteously think this should all be free.

If the box does not have an encrypted VPN to the TOR servers, your ISP can and will turn you in. Most main stream movies and TV shows can be found on YOUtube playing in a small hovering box on a weird background. And the audio is processed to keep the link alive.

VPNs like that are not free, so use at your own discretion.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.
