We took over a system that has a Sivoia Drapery System Sivois QED SVO-EDU-D10 (i Think) that opens and closes in front of theater screen. We have a Total Control MRX-8 Base station that only has a relay available. We do have a meridian processor that has a 12volt Trigger. There is a 4 conductor wire that was used from Drapery motor to the rack but we are not familiar with Lutron Drapery motors.

Here is what I found online:
Drapery tracks are available to be controlled by any of the Lutron Sivoia system technologies: Sivoiaź QED, Sivoiaź QS, or Sivoiaź QS Wireless.

Will this require a module from Lutron To control Drapery system or can we just trigger this thing open and closed. I have a call into Lutron. Havn't heard back.

Thanks in Advance,

You mentioned it's a takeover. Has it ever worked? If there is not a fullblown lutron system, the options were a contact closure board or an IR receiver. Here's a document that explains it.

If you have a lutron system you can probably use the 4 wire cable to connect the drapes. If there is no lutron system...Look around for an IR receiver. [Link: lutron.com]

If there is one then the 4 wire cable might just be for powering the shade. If you have a spare wire by the screen wall you could attach an emitter to the IR receiver and have control of it.

I am sure it did at one point. The former owners took almost everything with them.

Thank you.

I assume the Motor is power over 110?

No! Don't assume that. 4 wire lutron cable usually means low voltage power. Low voltage power is usually from a Lutron power panel or a stand alone power supply like in this diagram under "Power Interfaces and Panels". The black one is a large enclosure that handles multiple shades. The white one is a 24V power supply for a single shade. Actually you can probably do more than a single shade with one supply but i haven't had to use them more than once or twice for theater drapes in houses without Lutron lighting systems.

So if i am correct you just provide LV power to the shade and use the IR receiver for control.

Check to see where exactly that 4 wire cable goes and how its connected to the shade. Someone might have used the data pair to extend an IR emitter.
