Did anyone listen to it?

Your thoughts?

I am not asking this to start a war on here...please.

Just civil comments with some thought behind them...no flaming please.

My thoughts were that he was trying to be neutral. I do like the fact that he is not a politician and wants to fix issues in our country.

This is not nation leading, it is simply crowd drawing tactics. He has painted himself into a corner. His outrageous, media feeding comments have energized a bunch of grassroots bullies. If he now backs away from these isolationist, immigrant bashing shouting positions, the bullies will feel double crossed (by someone they thought was the last honest man), will be even more energized, and continue without him. Win or lose, this will only get uglier.

Edit: spelling (stupid keyboard)

I did not hear the speech but I might watch it. I DVRed it. Basically, we have a choice between a self-important jerk and a self-important criminal. I find I am going to have to hold my nose and vote for Trump.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

H. Clinton would be our first woman President.

D. Trump would be our last President.

Notes from RNC...

Mexicans steal jobs and rape. Gays ruin marriage for everyone. We have a couple of black people here. Build a wall. Maybe not build a wall. More bombs for middle east. Some stuff Obamas wife said in 2008. Trump Great Trump Terrific.

Nope. The mouth breathers will just tell themselves "hes just saying that so other people will vote for him...but we know he will get rid of the Mexicans like he promised".

The great thing about morons is that they will commit their entire souls to something before they even know what it is...and they will fight tooth and nail no matter what facts/logic get in their way.

Once again, the lesser of two evils.

The Clinton's belong in prison.

I guess that leaves Trump!

I watched. A few things I agreed with, many other things I did not. I agree that NAFTA should be put under a microscope but action on this is probably too late. Pan American should also be scrutinized. And immigration should be slowed, as it is happening faster than our society can absorb.

But many of Trumps statements don't stand up to fact checking.

It was a dark and fear mongering speech. And fear mongering is a smoke screen for something either illegal (Bush Iraq) or setting the American public up for a loss of rights (Patriot Act), or something more sinister.

I will not vote for Trump but I will not for Clinton either.

Injury by bullet or by knife. Unfortunately this country will have to pick one.

I'm writing in Pat Paulsen. My vote doesn't matter as Trump will carry Kansas no matter my vote.

I do plan to vote against many of the state Republicans who have been stripping Kansas of all its resources over the last 4-6 years.

If the first is the most important reason for electing her, I really have to question their ability to see clearly- electing a woman is far from the most important issue we have.

Why would he be our last POTUS? Do you think people have never said this before?

What happens if literally no one votes? That is probably the best thing we could do. Whatever your political views are, it is virtually impossible to ignore the shady track record of Clinton. That alone is enough to vote against her. Trump has no political track record. And even though some of the things that he has blurted out sound a bit extreme, there is no chance many if them would ever come to pass. He can say build a wall all he wants. There will not be a wall built. Both candidates have built their wealth and legacy on shady practices.

I feel like not voting is a perfectly good option. Cruz said to vote with your conscience. Mine says screw it.....it will continue to be a circus no matter what. Luckily, my state is red, and even if I voted a million times, it would not change the outcome. I say eliminate the electoral college and use common vote to determine outcome. That is the only way the people will have their actual voice heard.

That is my only political discussion for the year. But I do enjoy watching some of you let your panties get knotted up so please continue the futile bickering. :)

I'm curious about this "crooked Hillary" stuff. Is there anything to it that has been proven to be true? I know the GOP was counting on Benghazi (turned out there wasn't anything there) and then the email (poor judgement at best, but nothing there). So what is there that can be backed up with facts?

You would also need to stop allowing state delegates to make the actual voting decisions

I would also suggest dropping the antiquated two party system

We already have miles and miles of wall, but so much of it is easy to cross, anyway. Concertina wire is great if the people trying to get over don't have coats, blankets and other materials to lay on it.

Attack the messenger, not the message. It's the same type of attack as the citizenship issue. If one can make something like this stick (in the eyes of the uninformed), it is very damaging to the opposition, otherwise there is little at risk. It's not like the risk of being pro or against a popular position that might be vulnerable to facts.

Well for starters she lied under oath. That alone proves she is shady as s#$t. There are more things as well but you can dig more into those if your interested.

The only thing I would welcome with Trump taking office would hopefully reduce the corporate income tax rate. Even it is self serving, it makes sense. We have to stop sending corporate headquarters out of the country. Everything else is a wild card. Also, the supreme court nominee is another big thing for those looking for a fair and balance decision making process. I would rather have a business person attempt to turn this country around vs. Clinton #1, Bush, and Obama narrative. But Trump is not my first or second option....

I know lots of people who aren't voting because they don't trust either candidates. But I'd rather pick someone who is closer to ideology vs. further away. I think that is better than not voting at all.
