I just came across my first new Cox Contour 2 box. The customer provided a new Harmony Elite for me to replace their 1100.

Once I figured out how to unpair the remote and change it to IR, I figured I was home free. No. The box responds to the IR commands from the oem remote, obviously. I've tried the provided codes in the Harmony database, but those font work. I tried the old Scientific Atlanta codes, too. Those didnt work either.

I also tried using the remote to send the commands instead of the base station, as well. Nothing worked.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I just did my first one today and had to learn all the codes from the OEM remote.  This was with URC CCP and MX-1200.

I just called Harmony and they said that the codes aren't compatible with their remotes. I asked if I could just learn in the codes and I was told that wouldn't work, either. Their engineering dept. has been working with Cisco to get this resolved, but it's not possible, yet, (according to the lady on the phone at Harmony.)

great....sigh.

Cox contour 2 and Comcast Xfinity boxes respond to urc code set 203. It's under Comcast-->Xfinity [IP Only]. I know the IP part makes no sense, but it's the most reliable codeset that I have found. It works IR from the URC remote L.O.S. to the box, and also via RF thru MRF boxes.

The people at Comcast, Cox etc. have no idea what they are talking about. Their boxes accept IR no problem, no special settings needed. You can even leave the original box/remote combo as is (for voice control)

The Logitech Harmony people... No comment.

My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.
