I have a client that wants to monitor the attic temperature for no other reason then wondering how hot it is up there.
His control system is C4 and I have the new version thermostats. What would be the best way to monitor the temperature? Is there a way to feed that info through the thermostat without it affecting the T-Stat logic using the supplied sensor?
TIA

If C4 can control more than one system and keep them totally separate, this seems like it ought to be doable.
Can you add another HVAC system to your programming, but do nothing with the controls and only use its temperature display?

Add an Axxess Zigbee Contact Sensor up there and set the check in time to be long ( every hour or longer ) so the battery lasts for a long time. [Link: store.blackwiredesigns.com]then add the thermostat driver to display the temp [Link: support.blackwiredesigns.com]

Card Access and Axxess zigbee products have temperature sensors in them which you can bind to a thermostat driver (HouseLogix - cinegration) to expose to the client in navigator as a 'thermostat' and you can program off of just like a real thermostat. If attic >100 turn on attic fan switch.....

You should be able to wire up the remote sensor to the t-stat (if you aren't using it already) and use that temperature to update this free temp display driver. [Link: yatundev.eu]You can use that driver with a network based unit and temp sensor as well. [Link: houselogix.com]Kevin, Are there any CA devices that are hardwired and have temperature sensors? Even if it lasts several years, I'd rather eliminate as many attic crawls as possible!
