1. Do the Hopper and Joey respond to IR?
2. Are the codes in the URC DB working codes?
3. Does the Joey remote communicate with the Joey or the Hopper?

I haven't done any DISH network components in many years, so that is the reason for so many questions. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the fast response. Are there any distance issues with the Joey as far as length of RG6? Possible install where Hopper and Joey are 150 feet apart.

150 feet would depend on the cable:
Over RG11, no problem.
Over good solid copper, quad shield, sweep tested, RG6 - shouldn't be a problem either.
Using existing house cable some random electrician put in (copper-clad-steel, 40% braid, RG59); almost guaranteed to have problems.

Dual shield RG6, same specs.

I've tried to set up an MX850, which I think uses a different database, and none of the eight sets of codes (Dish #1 through Dish #8) worked. What is THE NAME of the working code set for Joeys that's in the URC DB?

I've never done any dish component work before this client, so, yeah, thanks for answers!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I started this thread a year ago and now I can't remember if something needs to be enabled in the Joey menu in order to receive IR from MX-890. Some help please.

Yes, you have to enable IR in the remote control section of the menu for it to receive IR.
URC codeset #1 worked fine for me last week.
