I need to find a remote that can handle RF (bose lifestyle 35) and IR based components. I am hoping to find something less expensive than the RTI. Ease of programming would be great. Thanks.

I have the lifestyle 35 and I'm just picked up the Philips Pronto TSU2000 and it works great with the Lifestyle. There is a custom built CCF file that you can download from here that has everything you need to control the system. Just make sure the Lifestyle is set to send and receive IR commands.
