This will likely make it all the way to the Supreme Court. As well it should, if needed (lower courts should realize the absurdity). And over turned, of course.

This tax was railroaded through, it's effed up! I don't drink soda but the fact it taxes juices is absurd. Glad I'm a few counties away, starting to think NJ wasn't so bad! :P

Anyway, back on topic....

I need to get this figured out while I'm not busy, so if anyone is interested in purchasing my van please let me know!

Where I live the closest "storage place" is a 25 minute drive from my house. I literally have exhausted all options. My hands are effing tied :(

Live and learn, but seems like your realtor should have offered some cautions for something like this when you where looking at houses.  You probably didn't meet your realtor in the van, but I expect the realtor had an idea of what you did for a living and I can't believe that at some point you didn't bring up the van and your requirement to have a place to park it.

Realtors can't be expected to know all the rules, laws and ordinances of specific towns or HOAs, but in my experience they are happy to look into stuff like this if they know you have specific requirements.

This is absolutely a live and learn experience, an expensive one at that :( she knew full and well what I did for a living. It's a town ordinance and it just so happens I have a makeshift "hoa" that thinks it's there job to enforce this outdated crap.

The whole situation just sucks

Already got a fine in the mail, they are waiving them for the few months I have. 119 bucks! I'm sure they Lein if they don't get paid.

Lawyer said its pointless, I'll spend 20k in fees to try and fight the town or get it changed. Then he billed me for the call!

Brendon, you need to move!

Also, Brendon will be driving from Philly down to Charlotte in few weeks.
Make him an offer and he'll drop it off at your house... that is of cause unless you happen to live in some f*&Ked up town doesn't allow vans :-)

Van is gone! :( replaced with F150. Going to be a challenge for sure but I'll make it work! I'll post some pics of her up when I get a chance. I'll also start a new thread with how I'm transitioning from a van to this.

With the different things I'm going todo it will make it usable for work 90% of the time. The other 10% will require a small utility trailer to haul the big stuff.

In the end I was able to work them enough on the trade, and knocking enough off the truck to essentially make the hit less painful. This is why it is so important to work dealers so you knock off enough of the initial depreciation of the vehicle so you are always even or right side up on the vehicle at all times. I got such a good deal on my van in the first place to make the hit manageable and not a financial killer. Commercial vans are losers (except for my Nissan and my transit)

In the end I was upside down on the van by $2800 but between the incentives, and having a good relationship with the dealer and being so close to the end of the month I managed to get an amazing deal on the new truck!! :) as of now I am right side up even with the "drive off hit" and rolling in the negitive equity.

Atleast pickup trucks hold their value! :P
