Has anyone come across crimp connectors for S-video, just find it a pain to solder the damn thing and crimping will be much easier but i cant seem to find anyone who sells them

Several companies make adaptors to runit across 2 Coaxial cables. Then you just put F-Conectors onthe Coax and ruin it into the adaptors.....
Much easier, and Dual coax is cheap.

Are you using unshielded cat5 for s-video without any type of converter or balun?

we use a short little bnc to svid adaptor from canare, a lot quicker and easier to crimp bnc's onto dual rg59 (especially ceiling mount proj) also a good reliable termination as inevitably the svid plug will fall out, these have to be the worst connection out! (though a little hot melt glue helps)

We use the Holland 1855 mini rg59 3ghz cable made by belden, its great! crimp on connectors any style, super lowloss. check the spec's. they make it in a single, dual, 3pack w/shield, 5pack w/shield, and 10pack w/shield. the also make a dual rca to s-video adaptor. the mini rg59 is 1/8 inch thick. w/ multiple colors.

What does anyone use S-video for? I don't use any in my biz. Not trying to be a smart-ass, just what is the source that is using those satan-created connectors?

I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other. |

I'll tell you what I tried to invent... something that would actually keep the f-----g s-video cable plugged in. I'm sure you've all wasted valuable in field time servicing these little bastard connectors that have fallen out of the backs of their respective components when someone in the room has displaced air with a fart.
You're right... they totally suck but I still use them for VCRs and older Sat Rcvrs as I can too easily see the moire patterns that composite video brings about.
