With C4's improved UI from last year's OS update, what is the best basic security panel to integrate with? 8 hardwire zones, 1 smoke, 2 keypads - with option to increase hardwire zones and add RF zones in the future? - updated April 17 to ask about ELK

Thanks! Used to install vista20s years ago on entry level jobs and HAI on larger jobs. Always preferred HAI programming. Any panels that offer programming beyond keypads or Compass software? Also hope to monitor through WAN connection.

Does Vista20p allow for bypassing zones via 3rd party now?

Not a fan of Honeywell should have listened... installed Honeywell but have been underwhelmed with Total Control 2.0 app. Have been looking more at ELK. How is their app in comparison? does it integrate well with control systems? is pricing competitive?

Elk is the correct panel for custom IMHO. it ticks off most if not all of the boxes.
1. Computer programmable. 2. Decent looking keypads (including flush mount) 3. A HUGE feature set of options on keypad behavior, keypad buttons, basic rules engine 4. A wiring scheme and methodology to allow the dozens of expansion boards and modules to be wired correctly and neatly. (spec the 28" can for lots of room) 5. RS232 or IP control (most control systems supported)
Is is not a popular priced ($99) panel. You will spend 3-4 time that...but this is custom right?

HAI is rock solid and really easy to program via Dealer PC Access. I don't recall a single failure over 9 years. Pricey though IMO

If it's not simple, it's not sufficiently advanced. |
