Anyone come up with a cost-effective and creative way to unitize several Connect:Amps for easy transport, install and access that does NOT include use of standard rack hardware or MA Half racks?

This could include wall shelves, free standing shelf units, wall-mounts, etc.

TIA

I have in the past (as well as others Ive seen here) take a 2U shelf and mount it to the wall backwards. Its sturdy and works well.

That's what I've done too.  These two installations are 2U shelves flipped around and attached to the wall.  One is in a basement and the other under a BBQ and they've been operating this way without issues between 4-5 years.

I've used the rack shelves on a wall as well and they work great.
Also used some kitchen storage type shelves in a closet once. It actually worked out really nice. We were going to have to cut shelves out to fit a rack which the homeowner didn't want to do.

We use 28" structured cans with 2-4 Sonos ConnectAmps mounted in Flexson wall mounts bolted to the can, in a horizontal arrangement, so the wiring is on one side of the can for a clean look.

We've used pre-finished shelf stock from the local hardware store, but mount the brackets above the shelf.

Ikea sells this:

Could line up a 6 zone system, add some white Panduit and a typical vertical rack power strip and it could look pretty clean.
