I need to come up with a wireless HDMI solution. I need to transmit / receive signal from a cable box 30' distance. Need IR control as well. I see 2 options from Peerless, one from Gefen and one from Ethereal. Pros and cons?

Equipment closet located inside house, TV will be rolled out to patio for occasional use. Signal will be passing thru one interior door, one interior wall and one exterior wall. Stick framed with stucco, I don't know if I have wire lathe or not.

Thanks for the opinions. Please jump in Brent.

Ours does work consistently at this distance, please note (however); damn near anything can/will disrupt this high level of data transfer. It is recommended that you place the Tx/Rx units as high as possible.
Stewart (Metra Tech) suggested that I add this about Wireless HDMI:
Wireless HDMI cannot be used as a balun or in a distributed audio type of setup, due to the .5 second delay between source and display, the audio from an AVR will never match the video.

I've done a decent number (12 I think) of the Peerless units, with decent success...but with a few caveats.

I won't install them at greater than a 20' distance, and only in the same room.
- note, you may/will get constant break up of video or sparkling especially with motion and 'vibrant/multi colored' images.
- also note that the degradation in picture quality/performance in general is noticeable (if you know what you're looking at/for).

But, when certain circumstances arise it can be a great solution.

We primarily use them in small conference rooms/training centers where floor coring isn't an option or table configurations will change often.

Definitely try not to locate walking paths between TX/RX as you will generally have issues whenever someone passes by.

We've used the Gefen ones without issues, but only ever install them in the same room.

A better option might be to find something else to do that day. Isn't there a clogged sewer that needs to be cleaned somewhere. But if you must, looks like there are 3 working options mentioned.

We used the Peerair a few times, where there was no other solution. Life saver, but the environment really alters the range. We had a case where we were 15ft away and getting diconnections, also, we have used for an outdoor tv over 80ft and it worked perfectly
