im currently on a service call and the home owner has a guy pressure washing the decks. Now currently he is on the lower deck, cleaning the underneath of the upper deck. He sets his ladder in place, climbs up, cleans two sections of the deck, then goes down the ladder, and moves it forward to the next two sections. But this puts him standing right under the previous two sections that are soaking wet and just raining water on his head. If he would turn his ladder around and work backwards, he could stay fairly dry. But he is soaked. It's also currently 54 degrees and a steady breeze.
Civil War reenactment is LARPing for people with no imagination.

You could have made a new friend if you had only told him.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

Or better yet, help him out of his misery by directing him to stick his finger in an empty light socket
Chasing Ernie's post count, one useless post at a time.

I currently employ 28 people in my restaurant/bar...
Never ceases to amaze me at how some people work.
It feels like I constantly am telling people how to work more efficiently, daily, hourly, always, until I just want to f'n scream!!!!

You can teach how to work, but not how to think

I'm beginning to think this is what I look like diagnosing my clients HDMI problems.

If you were going to say anything, you'd want to tell him that when he's done down there, he should go up top and rinse off the top, since shooting water up at the bottom of the deck is surely splashing dirty water onto the deck.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

While I was between jobs, I worked for this day labor place. One of the days, myself and a 20 something boy moved furniture for an office.

He claimed to have strip throat, didn't believe him because he didn't go to the doctors. Anyways, I handed him my bag of cough drops. Told him that he can take the bag home since I won't be needing them.

After several minutes of driving and talking. I asked him "How many of those have you taken?" "Um about 5 or 6." "Dude, you're not suppose to take that many in so little time. Plus the fact that each one of them has 100% of your daily vitamin C intake. You could get an over dose of that."

We made a brief stop some where and as soon as we got back in my car. He started to pop those cough drops again. I just shook my head.

Even if he ate the whole bag, the worse thing to happen to him would be a case of the shits.  That is why they are sold over the counter, because they are safe for morons to consume.

All I could picture was me doing the same thing (with added head rubbing and butt scratching.)

I've seen so many idiots doing stupid things and not responding to reason* that I've taken to complimenting people of any trade when I see them doing something clever. This happens often enough that it's heartening, but few people are complimented on their practical smarts.

*Like the door guy who was cutting aluminum mullions with a skil saw while not wearing any hearing protection. That combination makes a hugely loud shrieking sound. I yelled at him "Do you have any kids? Do you ever want to hear the voices of your grandkids?"

One similar to the one Fins put up.

While I'm wiring a house, the guy that was doing job site clean up for the builder cleans and sweeps out the first floor of a two story, then after getting it nice a clean, proceeds to do the second floor.

Then has to do the first floor again of course.

There was a lot of duh factor going on there....

I bet that this was a young guy who probably already had hearing damage from having their headphones on max.

If I am 10 feet from someone with headphones, either over ear or in ear. And I can clearly hear the music and signing, then it's way too loud.

its even worse when you can hear someone else's earbuds over your own.

I'm getting old and will wear ear plugs at Rock on the Range. I love loud metal, but i also want to be able to hear. The loudest concert I ever been was to see Motorhead in Indy a few years ago. It even hurt with earplugs!
