We used a few of the Digital Watchdog HD Video Balun pieces for a changeover to an AHD system from an old analog one and didn't have any problems. It says that they work on TVI also.

Just curious. Why would you use Luma TVI when there's Cat5 in place rather than IP cameras and an NVR?

We use H@#vi$ion and have been pretty happy with the results. There are so damn many TVI cameras/ DVR's out I just wanted one with a name behind it, even though if you Goggle H@#vi$ion you get low prices but I don't match. Tell them go ahead order it and install yourself, good luck.

They simply allow for a cleaner install. Our standalone systems are almost always IP, but Luma TVI works incredibly well with Elan G! systems, so we are using it a lot more lately.

Saw one suggestion for Digital Watchdog baluns- what are you using for baluns for TVI cameras? I have project coming up where Cat5e was run and need to use SnapAV HD analog and a couple HIKVISION HD analog cameras. TIA

We used these with success. I don't know that they work any better than anyone else's. I saw some in the last link that look just like them. [Link: digital-watchdog.com]

I appreciate the suggestions. Have only done IP with cat so no experience with Analog HD over cat.

Another for the digital watchdog. I have dozens in the field...no issues.
