Had a job years ago and needed to make some RS-232 cables. Ordered 100 pins from Amp and told them I needed them FedEx overnight. Next day I get two shipments. One overnight box has 8 pins in it. The other overnight box has 92 pins in it. I check my invoice and I am charged for two overnight shipments. Charge of 45 per shipment.

I call Amp and say WTF. They say that the computer ordered it from the first warehouse and they only had 8 pins so the computer then ordered it from the second warehouse the other 92.

that sounds like A@I shipping. i would even ask that all items be shipped at one time from one warehouse, sometimes it happened, sometimes not.

For everyone who wants to make a charger that works & save money:
I took a computer power supply from an old laptop & changed out the plug so it fit the AIM. Been working fine for over a year.

THE SPECS OF THE LAPTOP CHARGER ARE: 15vdc & 1.5amps. Charging time is reasonable & battery life seems to be fine.

Since my techs seem to loose or misplace these on a regular basis, we bought a can of Yellow spray paint to paint it. Seems to work. We always locate it when not put back where it belongs.

By the way, if you go up and down the Internet you can not readily find the specs for this power supply. I hunted all over before posting previous on how to make. One ebay vendor has blurred out specs & Trilithic won’t say on phone what specs are. I fortunate to own 2 AIMs. Hence, looked at specs of charger on 2nd meter to figure out how to make another
