I have been working on a new website platform that will combine everything into one site and add tons of really cool things

What I am stuck on is KB Article lay outs

Please visit these 2 links and give me your opinions..

ALSO please test on mobile phones in portrait and landscape mode

This uses 2 columns and breaks down the info into groups

This uses tabs

I prefer the tabs version so I don't have to scroll endlessly. Both versions work fine on iPhone 6 in portrait and landscape mode. I like that in the tabs version I get tabs in landscape and "+" to expand in portrait.

The goal is to make it super easy to use on any device :D

+1 for tabs.

Also, both display fine on my galaxy note 10.1 2014 (2560x1600) and my S7 (I have my DPI set at 530) in both portrait and landscape mode.

Agreed on the Tabs. Content re-position would be nice once the choice is made so you don't have to scroll. Nice looking so far!
No, it doesn't come preprogrammed.

I cant comment on other devices but the tabs get my vote. The other page is like Yahoo's home page in the early 2000's. I don't know where to start looking. With the tabs i can find exactly what i need (or figure out that what i need isnt there) immediately.

If I may say something.

The 3 lines, "blackwire" and the lock symbol area. Takes up more screen real estate than what it really needs. Especially when in landscape mode. This is on an iPhone 6plus.

If you could shorten the height some, that would be great. Or make it disappear when someone scrolls down. But reappear when they scroll back up.

I've had more people want to the static top banner. Since the site is everything including a store the lock symbol is actually your cart icon. Currently with a 0.

I'll look and see if I can make it not appear on the support pages to give more room for viewing and also make it a little thinner

Totally understand the fact that it's there, didn't mean to come over as rude.

KOT made his comment not realizing that's a cart icon, so apparently that fact is not obvious.

I prefer tabs, too. The guys at www.websitesthatsuck.com used to rail against pages being too long, so that would meet their approval, too (and it's a real site!).
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

The new trend is this ridiculous scrolling forever homepage. Its the screen equivlent of a magazine...pages and pages of flashy ads that people just flip/scroll through without paying much attention.

I can't stand that at all. I am trying to keep the home page as simple as possible

Speaking of that. What does everyone like to see on the main page of a site?
