FYI: Just got the new Bar Buddy Remote. (barbuddyremote.com)
It's awesome! It was designed for bars and restaurants.
It solves the problem of multiple brand TVs you find in use with bars and restaurants. You can program it to control 6 different brand of TVs and your choice of Dish or Directv satellite. I've worked in this industry for 20 years and this is a great inexpensive fix to the multiple remote problem. I signed up to be a retailer and have sold 20 already without even trying.

that's awesome!!! thanks for joining our little forum and letting us know about this great product that you discovered and are in no way affiliated with besides being a retailer.  your story sounds so believable that I will go out and become a dealer myself.  i can't wait to sell 20 of these excellent products.  as soon as I'm done sending 5000USD to that prince from Somalia, I'll get right on this.

You're an idiot.

Also, how do you individually control TVs that are next to each other that respond to same codes?

I'm not going to write your actual URL since I don't want to encourage anyone to visit the site.

And I decided not to quote Mario, but only because I wanted to actually type these words myself: You're an idiot.

I hope you know nothing about this site. If you did, you'd know we are here to help one another as well as strangers, and every member who sells products that we'd be interested in came here, joined, offered help on things unrelated to what they were selling, and plainly said when the time came "I sell such and such product and maybe it can help."

In other words, they were honest. And they contributed.

The post above starts with a lie. You just bought a barbuddy? Really? You list barbuddy.com as your URL, but you only now just bought one?

Don't you realize that "FYI" is shorthand for information given to SOMEONE YOU ALREADY HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH? I'm not taking ANY bit of FYI from a stranger.

You want to be a member here? Contribute something. Help someone. Don't come here trying to take advantage of a large family of installers (with our crazy cousins and everything else a family has) and pretend that you're not going to benefit personally from people knowing about barbuddy.

I thought it was Nigeria. Or was it Claude, wherever he is?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

FYI - I have worked in the field of electronics for over 30 years. I started with basic electricity classes in high school. I joined the Marine Corps and went to school for metrology. (No I'm not a weatherman) I was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma where I repaired and calibrated avionics test equipment. (equipment used to test the electronic systems on board fighter jets)
After my tour in the USMC I went to work for Hughes Missile Systems in Tucson, AZ. (now called Raytheon) in the Standards and Calibration Lab writing procedures and certifying the test stations for TOW, MAVERICK and PHOENIX missiles. I accepted a job offer from a government contractor and was in put in charge of the ARBS program at the Marine Corps Air Station Tustin. (Angle Rate Bombing System)
I moved to Arizona and started my own satellite business installing, aligning, programming and repairing C/Ku satellite systems. I am currently a Directv commercial dealer and have provided all technical services for the bar and restaurant industry for the last 20 years. I install camera, audio and video systems.
You state the purpose of your website is to "help" people. First I must say as this is my first day/first post I've never received such a rude welcome by such a bunch of "idiots" to coin a phrase. (you know who you are) My credentials speak for themselves. I offered this information "TO HELP" people who may of encountered this problem. Being in the electronics industry for 30 years I am always happy to learn of new technology. You don't have to believe me, go to the web site and see the product for yourself. (I would advise not to send the $5000 to the prince from Somalia) Its been my experience that most bar owners are cheap. When a TV goes bad, they replace it with whatever brand is on sale. They end up with a dozen remotes because they have many different brands of TVs. I found the Bar Buddy remote was the answer to that problem. So the purpose of my post was to "OFFER HELP and a SOLUTION" to a problem I've encountered when it comes to REMOTES. I thought that was what this web site was all about - excuse me! Instead I see it is a place for "some" members just to be a smart ass. I read multiple posts and saw many "smart ass" replies. I don't see how that HELPS anyone and find it hard to take this site seriously if the people in charge allow, encourage or participate in the negative snide remarks.

The "problem" I was providing a solution for is unique to the bar and restaurant industry. They change channels with the Directv remote or with the Directv app. The unique problem they have is the bar owners buy the cheapest TVs on sale and end up with 6 or more different brands of TVs. So they have a bucket or box of remotes they use every morning to walk around the bar and turn on the TVs. The Bar Buddy remote replaces all those so they walk around in the morning with the one remote instead of 6 or 7. The TVs are only used as a monitor (only turned on in the morning and off at closing) so they don't have the problem of needing to control the TVs individually. If the TVs use the same IR codes, its an advantage for turning them all on in the morning or all off at closing. Most bar owners will not spend the big bucks for a Crestron or other expensive TV control system.

The majority of dealers on here all deal with sports bars that have an actual automation system. Your generalization of sports bar owners being cheap is not as relevant anymore, yes many of them want to get away with whats cheapest but they are still willing to spend money. There are many sports bars in Phoenix (and all over the US) all with Control4, RTI, Crestron, URC etc running them. Many of them even have HDMI video distribution system as well.

The reason you are getting so much hate is your post count was 1 and you were posting advertisements on this forum.

You are not contributing or providing anything helpful. While you may think selling people a remote control is helping them, its not.

if you want to post about the remote that you are selling then pay for ads on the site. Its not that expensive.
