Well since you want to be a dick about it let me tell you why I would like to have it.

I am a disabled vet with limited mobility, I have decided to add automation to my home as a way to improve my limitation. So yes I may not want to get off my ass and move to the keypad, but its not because I am a fat ass like you, but because sometimes it can be excruciatingly painful to do so. DICKHEAD

Why do you want to control your security system through a remote? Too lazy to get off your ass and go to the keypad?

My copy of CCP is up to date as of this morning. The only module that are currently in there are for urc camera,KNX, psx, and lutron. The instructions do say that it is only available in the urc toolbox

if you have an updated copy of ccp, then you should already have the module.  it shows up in my 2 way module list and I don't recall downloading it separately.

Then do it properly instead of trying to screw around with a product that was never really meant to do what you want. Also, call a pro for some design help.

Before you make fun of me. It might make sense to ask me what I want it for. I promise you that even with my limited mobility, I have never complained about my situation.

You should see gow many people complain about having to get up to spin the dial and change the TV channel. If only we had a way to control it remotely :)

I do have an MSC 400

As I see it, you will need some sort of interface device to go between the mx5000 and your panel to communicate.

Unless the hai has ir input (been several years), you will need something like the now discontinued msc400 to communicate via rs232.

Good luck!

It would be much easier to use a smartphone and that interface than trying to get the remote programmed to control the security system.

I think Mac was actually poking fun at the person he quoted and not you. He was more or less pointing out how everything is remote controlled. The suggestion to possibly use a app rather than the remote might be a better path. It might be easier, however if you have the MSC400, your options open up with the possibility to using rs232.

I'm sorry, that's even worse. The msc400 is only good for one way control. It's not a smart processor

I'll check my ccp folders and see if there is a way to send you the module.

The 400 will only send rs232. It won't receive 232 and will never be able to give feedback of the alarm status. The app is still a better option.

Guys, I have been coming here for almost 8 years the glean information from almost all of you that replied to this thread. I thought that could ask here of all places and get some useful stuff. I am very aware of URC's policy towards end users, but I have been an end user for way before that went into effect. I have stated that I am willing to pay for it and would consider working with a dealer on this. I'm just not willing to turn it over to someone else. The reason for this is sometime I cant sleep in my bed and I sleep in the recliner and with the remote in my had I can arm the house and turn off all the lights.

I don't really want a phone or tablet, with the remote I can go to one macro button press it and everything goes quiet for the night. With the phone I have to unlock, open app close app (now that is work there ; ) ) an d nothing beat the feel of a good remote.

Can anyone share with me the reason with they think that the MX5000 is not a worthy product?

Also any dealers willing to work with me on my integration options? I am able to pay for some time spent on this.

Now my system does announce status, so I will know thta the system is armed or that a door is opened. What I won't know is if the lights in a certain are is still on. So what do you recommend . I don't really have the money to get a whole knew system and no real desire to go completely ip based.
