Ah, you get that email, too?

It looks like that might not work as simply as shown. It cuts all four sides of a rectangular hole, so it vibrates left and right while top and bottom keep it from moving up and down, and vibrates up and down while the left and right sides keep it from moving left to right. It cuts all four edges at the same time.

This is still a better idea, though, than all of those flashlights that force you to toggle through a strobe setting to turn the damn thing off. Do you know of anyone who NEEDS a strobe setting on a flashlight, and needs it bad enough that ALL such flashlights have it? (You'd think that if someone needed a flashlight that strobed, the strobe rate would have to be variable.)
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I came here to post this same thing, and a question:

Has anyone been using it?

What do you think?

I have had and used one of the LSD template thingies since the dawn of time. Can someone explain the reason for the notches on the corners on the thing?

Are those there for some specific cut in ring that I have never seen?

Im with golden and iform. Not a hard task.

Not sure its worth dragging out the tool and attachment for what is already a simple feat. Seems like extra unneeded steps. Im likely already going to want to use the level to make sure I have the opening where I want it anyway. Would you want to use this tool without already marking on the wall EXACTLY where the whole is to be cut? Hmm. think i will pass.

Perhaps it's to tell you where to put your hole saw at in the corners?

Ive never understood those notches either! Chalked it up to dumb design. Couldnt make sense of it. Be interested as well to know the reason.

Snap carries that handy little tool.

I got the email this morning and emailed them. He replied back within an hour.
I asked how many holes can it cut before needing to be replaced. He said they've cut over 400 holes in drywall and it's still cutting fine.
He also said it's not designed for wood but they are working on a version for wood.

Mine uses a button press to go from fully bright to less bright and strobe, but the button doesn't need to click. If I press it fully and it does click, it shuts off and the next time I use it, it's at the last setting.

Strobe- it can be used in a survival situation.

Carlon boxes often have the notch, but I don't like the irregularly shaped interior, so I almost never use those.

Does it work with fein? (Festool) I could see this working well for a corded unit but feel a cordless one would be under powered. If you had the tool handy it would be awesome...however for a hang and bang situation it's pretty pointless.
