I'ver gotten everywhere from about 38 Inches to 60-75 feet in residential installations..... The COnstruction of the home is only one factor in RF reliability and range.....

Thanks for the reply Impaqt In the application I'll be using this configuration the home is located in a rural location with little RF interferance. The client is a low tech person. So the home is not loaded with interfering devices. My main concern is the penatration of signal between floors. The home is 7K square feet.

The TV itself can be a major source of range robbing interference, especially plasmas and LCD's. Even standard crt sets can cause trouble if the RFX receiver is located in close proximity to the set
Adjusting the location of the RFX receiver can make a world of difference as can channel selection.
