El Niño is a bitch.

But thankfully for my area, SE CT, there were maybe 5 or so snow storms this "season". 4 of them had snow that lasted only for the day on the ground. There was one that lasted almost 2 days.

Last year though? Well 4 to 5 storms every month. Didn't get to see the grass for the entire season.

Hopefully this is the last one. Supposedly before this snow there was only one bean left in the jar.

I was going to make a post about how this was the best winter I can ever remember. I think it got cold a day or two? Cant remember.

But, I didnt want to rub it in my brethren's face knowing how bad other parts of the country had been this last season. But come August, oh how the table does turn.

We also got a couple inches, and it's still snowing. I'm trying not to complain because we had such a mild winter. This was the first year I can think of where I was kayaking after Christmas and wishing I hadn't worn the full goretex dry suit.

At least the NW and many areas of the Rocky Mtns got dumped on- some of the California reservoirs are high enough that the water problems can be managed more easily. Not so much for the SW, though.

It's 28 effing degrees here- I wouldn't mind, but it was 70 last Sunday and March 6, 7, 8 were 66, 71, 67 respectively. Last month was warmer than this one and that's just wrong.

We had almost no cold weather before New Years. It was the only Christmas I remember wearing shorts and a t-shirt and hanging out outside by the grill instead of bundling up and dashing out to check my prime rib and quickly dashing back in.

Fortunately, the ground is warm and this is melting fast.

In the DC area it was an average winter, which means cold and too much snow.

We had one historic snow storm that dumped 24" in one day, which is a lot for us.

Just one day? We have had more snow in April than we did in February and March combined. There wasn't a day last week that I walked outside and didn't have to take my snow brush out of my car and clean it off.

It's been a mild winter here on the West Coast (of Wisconsin). Saturday looks to be 70 degrees, and since it's the spring version of the Flood Run, a motorcycle rally that draws tens of thousands of bikers to the area, I'm planning on holing up.

Fred,

The wife just flew in to Minneapolis yesterday afternoon and will be in Minnetonka until Friday morning.

I think it was actually warmer there than in the triad, but that's going to change.

Me, I drove to the beach again. Mid 60's at wake up, and mid 70's by lunch... :-)
