If you were to want a keystone patch panel mounted inside a structured wiring enclosure, what would you use? Just order the one from Snap, and screw it in? Does someone make a purpose built panel that mounts to the existing holes in the panel?

I am probably overthinking this.....but I ran out of actual work to do. :P

How many ports do you need to terminate? You want to snap keystone inserts in a piece, rather than getting one that has its own ports and allows the cable to be punched down on the back?

How much depth do you have?

When I did mine, I couldn't install it facing forward due to depth restrictions.
I installed my 48 port patch panel in the corner at 45°

16-24 ports. I would rather do keystone RJ45 jacks than 110 punchdown. It looks like the Snap panel may snap into their panel with the front facing to either side. Just curious if anyone knew of a "better" or cleaner solution....I am guessing I should just do what I do and make it work the way I want to work.

This is for my home, and the 40" panel is only for a pull point really to crawl and attic. I want to patch a few network jacks, speaker wires, and probably some RG6 as well in the panel. A trunk will go out of the panel to a rack in the distant future. :)

Thanks.

Depth extension ring gives more depth, giving more flexibility.

Ring mounts in front of the drywall, raising the cover.
