Today's Tip: when working on a system in a restaurant, don't turn the TVs to Andrew Zimmer's Bizzare Food show. Most customers don't want to watch someone prepare bull testicles while waiting on their pizza. LOL

I've been know to play classical music in every room very loudly if the drywallers want to play that circus music on their $5 swap meet boombox.

There's a 7-11 in Hollywood that cleared out the panhandlers several years ago by playing Bach.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I was working on a slot machine several years ago. And I observed several guys on the end machines and they all were leaning towards the isle. Not just 1 or 2 guys, but like 5 or 6 guys were doing this. I was like "WTF is going on here?"

So I leaned over and never leaned back. There was an uncensored porno on the big screen TV down on the other end.

Hispanic crew stained a ceiling and it looked terrible, sanded and stained again, terrible. Rinse repeat.

All the while I was down in the mech room trimming out the rack listening to what sounded like the same song over and over and over and over again though a $5 boombox.

Finally got the rack finished, the 2 surround zones and 12 zones of whole house audio running. Of course I had to burn in the system at extreme db levels. Mostly SoCal punk rock.

Ceiling turned out nice.

At what point is the music system trimmed and playable when there are still drywallers in the house?

The best one I ever saw.

One electrical crew was on site with a boombox cranking out some heavy metal rock while the old plumber was on site at the same time.

Electrical guys go to lunch, leaving the radio blaring. Plumber brown bags it, gets his fill of the crap, so called music blaring.

Plumber goes to the boombox and drop kicks it out the window.

Yes, there was a conversation later....

Project I did last year still had the plaster crew on site while I was doing final setup and testing.

NWA F$#@ the Police at smoke test levels on 24 zone house audio system =

Plaster crew was mostly 40 something year old women, they didn't like NWA and told me as much. My suggestion was for them to take it up with the builder, song was his request. = )

As far as media content and clients, I have found no matter what you put on, sooner or later you will offend somebody.

Finding Nemo = We don't let our children watch nonsense like that.

Need for Speed = Client shielding his child's eyes when a scene with (clothed) cleavage was on the screen briefly. Movie is PG13.

A PG rated alien invasion move = Can you please turn that off, it is too violent. In a house with nobody under about 25 present
I am a trained professional..... Do not attempt this stunt at home.

Back when regular cable had a porn channel or two, I was showing a couple the meaning of contrast, brightness, and color. They had a 65" RPTV... or something else that was huge at that time. I changed channels a couple of times, looking for an image I could use to show Brightness. I had the sound down since it could not help.

A channel came up with a wood cabinet in the background and I focused on that. I turned the brightness up and showed them that blacks disappeared, turned it down and showed the wood grain disappearing... and I then noticed that they were staring silently at the screen.

I turned and looked, and saw we had landed on a full-action porn channel that just happened to have a wood cabinet in the background. Changed channels pretty quickly.

Oops.

A friend of mine spent some time as a captain. On one yacht that he worked on, the first thing he had to do in the mornings was go around to every tv and change the channel twice. First time was so the wife wouldn't turn the tv on and find porn. The second time was so she couldn't hit prev channel and end up back on porn. This was too important to deligate to any of the crew.

One thing I like to do when I get to a boat, is hit the previous channel button.  Half the time it is one of the adult channels.   Oops...busted.   Captains/Mates are pervs.
