Mac isn't the only one that is happy about that. I don't use my phone for videos and much web browsing. Emails, phone calls, and texts is all I need my phone for. 4" phone fits nicely in my pocket or my tool pouch when I am working. I can easily type on it and have never had a reason to want a larger screen.

iPhone SE, meh. I'm waiting for the FLP, now that's old skool!

Or better yet, Apple could just re-brand this little guy...

The 6 doesn't feel as big as it used to. It still sucks trying to reach the top left corner with one hand...and the stupid tap to bring the top down feature has never been useful to me...but it's not so bad.

This new SE will probably be under-powered so im not interested. The 6 is already starting to feel slow and by year 2 i will want to upgrade to something faster.

I still have my iPhone4. I use it as an ipod to test docks with the old style connector and i use it as a music source when testing amps/speakers. Every time i use it i cant believe how small it is and how easy to use it is...plus the UI is glossy and 3D'ish making the new phone look like garbage.

It will be interesting to see what the next iPhone looks like. The 6 didn't really bring anything new to the table and the release of this SE model makes me think they are out of ideas.

I'm done with iOS. I wanted an iphone after my contract is up with my Note3, but no thanks. Every iOS device I've had slows to a crawl within 2 years. My iPad mini is near useless now at right around 2 years now.

Me and my Samsung "old geezer's flip phone" are still happy. LOL

Music on a phone? Texting? Use a phone to change channels on the TV? Why?

They invent an iPhone that can hand deliver a nice Pinot, I'm in. Otherwise, no thanks.

That's been said before.

This seems to me to be a passive aggressive business plan. "The phone will suck within two years and we know it. But because we'll be on to other things, never looking back, we'll just never bother to fix that in new product. They can buy new stuff."

This ain't me:

The slow down issue happens with every computer. The device is designed and built with 2014 (for example) hardware then sold in 2015 and then upgraded to 2016 and 2017 (typical 2 year life span of a mobile device) applications that are designed to make use of hardware built in 2016...which is faster than the 2014 hardware on your 2015 phone that you still have in 2017 waiting for your upgrade to the new 2018 model...(catches breath).

Progress!

My HTC One M7 has a 4.7" screen. I think 4.5" would be the bomb. I have been looking at the Sony Z5 Compact as a replacement. But I just replaced the USB port again on mine, so it should last until next years new models come out.

I have no use for a larger screen. 4.7" is ok, but I still have to stretch my thumb to reach one handed. 4.5" I think would shrink it just enough to make it work out fine. The Sony is thinner too, and with a thinner case, it would also make a big difference. I had to put a blocky case on this one because without it, it has sharp edges and is too slippery. It would have taken too many falls by now to be recognizable.

I'm down for this... I'm still using the 5S, but would like to upgrade for more processing power and better camera but have been holding off because I didn't want a larger phone.

Thanks for sharing the announcement.

I am buying a 5 SE on launch day and giving my 6 to my daughter. Never fell in love with the bigger screen and slippery aluminum case.
