Does anyone know if the NEO line will have have automation capabilities through IP or through some sort of an RS232 adapter (IT100)? We haven't switched over to the new platform and was hoping to interface these newer panels.

It will have IP integration. The C4 integration is either just done or going to be done soon.

We throw out A LOT of strange references in our office throughout the day so I welcome them in return!

JRainey, are you saying that DSC has already released the protocol or they will be adding a piece that will give IP integration?

I would like to facilitate the info to Savant for a future profile or maybe I could tackle that one myself off the existing RS232 profile.

I just checked the C4 Knowledge base and the API is done and the driver is available....the IP interface is TL280 or the TL2803G dual path communicator

I have been beta with the new for a month or so. So far so good. I am not aware of any IP communications. You do have to have the TL280 but it uses the RS422 communications link. You have to have a 422 to 232 adapter.

It turns out that it is encryption related. Apparently C4 and Alarm.com are the only two that will support the new 128bit encryption of the Neo panels. They said more are possibly coming but there was no time frame.

That's what a DSC trainer told one of my guys today at a NEO training. So I'm guessing he must be referencing IP. Serial shouldn't have encryption (I believe). They mentioned only working with C4 and Alarm.com.
