I want to use a Zone Pro 640 for four audio zones in a restaurant. ZC8 keypad would select scenes and zone volume and 3 other ZC6 keypads would control volume for each zone.

Does the zone pro do audio matrix or is it simply a one source at a time preamp providing different DSP settings and volume for four zones?

When I create a scene with the software can I set volume levels with each scene?

I've heard that you can not ramp volume with a third party control system. I would use RTI for control. Is it easy now to create programming for volume ramping?

Here's what I know, yes it is a true matrix. I've never needed scenes so nothing there. When I tried to program Rti to control it, it was pretty straight forward after I read the notes in the driver. It does fake volume feedback so I didn't bother with it. It kind of ramped the volume, but I gave up and did volume presets.

We have programmed a few RTI control systems with th DBX ZP. From our experience, at least with RTI, controlling volume can be flaky at best. using volume presets have proven to be the better method.

RTI control does work as mentioned and it is recommended to have a dB preset levels.

I have a project with ZC-8's for all of the source and volume controls. We are also using a ZC-7 for scene selection. The scene selection is basically for control the EQ curve based on customers wants. The volume is defaulted to whatever the scene is saved as. In our case, if they rocking out with pop and want a "country" EQ, the volume would change to whatever it was saved at.

Also - Each output zone has to be set as EITHER "router" or "mixer". Router is what we would think of as a matrix. Mixer is like a standard pro audio mixer.
