OK....I have my skepticism about this even being a thing, but my boss is telling me it is, and there is a client who wants some, and apparently has one, but cannot tell us what it is....he is going to look closer.

Use case is for board room/conference room where users can come in, connect to wifi, navigate to a web page, and "magically", the projector becomes a mirrored display of their 'puter. The idea is that this eliminates connection complexity with HDMI cables, dongles, adapters, DisplayPort and VGA headaches, compatibility with drivers, resolutions, etc...basically it is one of those "X for Dummies" products it sounds like. :)

If it does in fact exist, throw me some details please. :)

DLNA-enabled equipment and the type you're describing require that the computer's Sharing set to On. If they just want to point a computer to a web page, why not just install one with a small case, hide it and connect it directly to the projector and control it with BT keyboard that has a mouse pad? That would be less expensive and it could do more.

Looking at the video for this, it appears that to connect, you have to join the device's WiFi HotSpot.

If that's the case, do you know how I could surf the net (LAN or WAN) and display content at same time without having to connect 2nd NIC (wired connection)?

The Crestron AM-100 and the Qomo are nearly exact in functionality.

Pick one and you're golden.

Thanks for the info. I think we are going to bring in the Prijector piece and play with it. It has some nice features the others do not. It does not let you share between devices like the others, but that is not is what is needed in this case.

Vivitek Novopro DS. I just brought my sample back to the office after using it at home for a week to see how stable it is. Works great.

I just chatted with Prijector- looks interesting and they have a special price now.

I haven't gotten info about the Qomo, but the Prijector has its own hot spot, but allows connection to the internet at up to 100Mbps. It also has an HDMI input.

They have 1 year replacement warranty.

You can do this with a Chromecast. All that is required is a Chrome browser and the Chromecast plug-in. Works on any pc that can run Chrome regardless of OS.
