Whatever floats your boat. I like the SR260 remote. It does not make sense in my head why you would want to do this. I suppose if you are a C4 dealer and took over a TC job that you wanted to switch to C4, you could utilize the existing remotes.....but it will still likely cost more to integrate them vs. the SR260. Butt hay...

SR260 is absolutely remote that proves you don't need a color screen remote!!

I think the only place this makes sense is when Zigbee is being problematic, otherwise it's absolutely 100% pointless

Well, since it's gotta use a MRX processor, I guess you could put IP Cameras on the TRC-1080 too, no?

Cameras on a 2" screen? Uh, no.

And...

Comparing this to using URC or RTI handheld remotes with Crestron is not the same thing. This requires using 2 control systems (stupid idea IMO) where Crestron is able to receive trigger commands directly from a URC or RTI remote as if it were a native Crestron remote. Big difference.

Says it supports the TRC-1280, that's a bit bigger.

It's useful for a quick glance. I had my old wirepath dvr setup to pull up cams on my 1080. It pulled them up instantly, WAY faster than the native app.

C4 is a great system but you hand a guy with a house full of tivos a t2x that has all the buttons he need on a touchscreen game over.

I am not sure what you can do with the T2X and Tivo that you cannot do with C4 and Tivo. I have integrated lots of Tivo with C4 and never had any control limitations.

Another point to bring up that is on my mind recently is remote cost. We installed an Elan system recently for a family with lots of young kids and a house full of tile and hardwood floors. Well the call came. Kid dropped the remote and the screen cracked.

Not sure yet if Elan can just send a replacement screen. If not, then they are buying a new remote for ~$870. Nice, eh? The SR260 is $200 MSRP. Not a hard pill to swallow when your kid/wife/dog/babysitter/drunk friend/whoever drops your fancy remote. :)

TiVo has a 4 or 5 button I can clearly label on the touchscreen area. A 250 or 260 does not. Can c4 run a separate Macro after the initial Macro to check all the proper settings have been set and if not send the extra codes. The answer is No

I have TiVo at home with control4for about 2 years now.... I've never run into an issue

I've read this 5 times now. What exactly are you talking about? Are you worried about the Thumbs buttons not being labeled? Most folks dont even use em, but its not really that hard to understand they are on the page buttons...
