I have a client who needs a short depth ceiling mounted can. A total of 6 to be exact. We have designed a small soffit that will only give us 4" of total depth. We would like to be able to use LED, but it's not a deal breaker.

He saw some pictures of some square brushed nickel and really liked them. That can was to deep unfortunately. Price is a small consideration, but not a big hurdle.

I need to have 4 lights on a Lutron dimmer, and 2 lights on another dimmer. We have considered using the Lutron Caseta Smart Bridge Pro . This is my customers 1st try at Lutron . We will either use the Alarm.com or his RTi system to control it.

Please, if anyone has any great ideas on how to solve this problem, post them. Thank you in advance.

How about faux wood beams? Have the cans installed in those. That is if it's legal to have electrical ran and installed in them.

Contact the local Lutron rep. They typically carry many lines and would know what works well.

Not sure about the US but we have a lot of LED's designed to look like a pot/can light but don't require any back boxes (cans) to be installed into.

Here's a link to one brand that we use on a regular location. We have these working on a Crestron system without issue.

The lights are available in 4", 6", and 8" round and 4" and 6" square trims. both 1/2" and 1" depth and are rated for damp location installation so can be installed in soffits and bathrooms without issue.

This sounds like the perfect place to use a 12 volt LED spot or wash. Try looking in that direction. There are no high voltage requirements, only heat requirements. You can run a pair of 16 ga speaker wire to power them.

This requires a 12 volt unregulated supply that has to fit somewhere -- that's the biggest challenge of this approach. And not a switching supply, either! I've done systems using a Lutron magnetic circuit dimmer, with the 12 volt supply being a transformer, rectifier, and filter capacitor.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
