I don't see how the US government could approve that, given the track record of other deals harpooned.

If that's the case, then I'll certainly be moving my business away from Ingram and AVAD.

There is a massive corporate take over of our industry going on right now. That is just insane

The suits will buy it all up and then start lookong at the books and dump it. Meanwhile we wont be able to get part number 7451236-4 and now our customers system is junk!

My grand-kids are required to take Chinese language courses in school now.
Makes sense - you should be able to talk to your boss.

Interesting national security issues implied. Not only are critical components (switches, routers, computers, etc.) manufactured in China, now they get to know where each model is shipped.

I guess that the original investors needed to cash out.

If you are direct with Sonos, look at your delivery boxes.  Shipped from Ingram Micro.

Sonos has always outsourced just about everything except their core expertise. This allowed them to hit the ground running and scale easily.

I suppose that there could be economies of scale for Ingram Micro since so much hardware is manufactured in China. Shipments could be aggregated in China, rather than each manufacturing company shipping separately to the US.

Only as a matter of convenience for small orders on short notice since they are close to us.

I will say the last few times I was there the walk-in purchase process was better. The order speed was faster and the warehouse had the products to the front much faster. Of course that could be because I was the only one in there but even a year ago when I was the only one in there it took forever to get an order.
