Yeah, I did a house with about 40 of those a year ago.. Had two bad sensors/contacts from the factory. the builder had a guy from Anderson out at final to go through all the windows and make adjustments and replace the two bad sensors.
I used a Honeywell to GE translator to work with the GE Netwerx system.

Cool, but don't remember the last builder I saw use Anderson. In the 70's and 80's they were the only brand good builders used. But then other lines of equal quality and less money came to market.

I have a builder using them primarily for this purpose. I'm told by the rep a Zwave motorized version is on the way.

It's about fricken time! I've been asking them to do something that was either built in, or had pocket for standard size contacts for years.

I have worked with these. The engineer from Eagle/Anderson showed them two me 3 years ago, we integrated them into a house two years ago and they suck. Batteries dont last, sensors falling offline, the original security company ended up removing them off the system. Not worth the headache, I told the engineer why not leave flying leads instead of batteries.

Honeywell 5800 series sensors work mint. Flawless usually and they worked with Honeywell with these. I'd like to hear more reviews before I decide on saying they suck

They use the same frequency as the 5800 series sensors, but thats it. Andersons parent company is here and I know these have been problematic. I am sure they will get better, soon I hope because it has cool features.

Cool, but don't remember the last builder I saw use Anderson. In Dallas a lot of custom builders use them, probably based on architect specifications.

New construction, use wired contacts. Batteries are a PITA.
Why can't they offer integrated wired contacts?

Each window takes two zones, 1 to tell you if the window was locked or unlocked and 1 to tell you if the window is open or closed. The same applies to the Eagle Doors.

Honeywell 5800 is the worst of the major brands in terms of reliability and range (except maybe the old DSC 900mhz stuff that was pretty bad) Interlogix (ITI) is a bunch better and the new DSC NEO is a whole generation ahead.... We looked at these a couple of years ago and had the same thought of if you are going to the expense why not do flying leads .....

Not to mention, Anderson windows are overrated in quality. And certainly aren't very special when it comes to R value or infiltration specs.
I would only use Anderson is there were no other window mfgs in the world. Except maybe Milguard. They are even worse.
