We got a great number of responses for my most recent "now hiring" post for LA, now I need another Lead Installer for my office in Hayward (East Bay, between Oakland and San Jose). I currently have 4 lead installers, 3 apprentices, a programmer and a field service tech. I just lost a good lead to the longshoreman - I guess a big union gig is still to be desired on the west coast - and I need to replace him.
I'm looking for someone with a couple of years experience in residential A/V work. We do 100% retrofit and 99.5% residential. The installers recently switched to working 4 ten hour days which means that every other week you get a four day weekend. We give you a company truck - loaded with power tools, ladders, wire, fish tapes and just about everything else - that you will take home with you at night. You get medical, dental, vision, 401k, stock purchase options and paid vacations. How many install companies can offer you that?
The right candidate will be looking for a career with a very large and growing company. Installing brands like Elan, SpeakerCraft, Krell and Denon means that we want people who enjoy what they do - we're generally the number one dealer in every market we operate in and are also number one nationally for a number of brands. Installing systems sold out of our retail operations (we support 5 stores from this office) means that we need people who can think on their feet and who believe customer service is a requirement, not an option.
We prefer to promote from within so this candidate must be willing and able to train new hire apprentices in the many skills necessary to be a top installer. In the past two years my lead installers have promoted into supervisory and management positions, as well as other areas in our company. Does this interest you?
