This is the crazy part

Control4 acquired Pakedge for approximately $32.7 million in cash on January 29, 2016. Control4 expects the acquisition to contribute to revenue growth, and to be both Gross Margin and EPS accretive on a non-GAAP basis for the full-year 2016.

Does this mean that only C4 dealers can buy product and access support going forward? (Remember that little Extra Vegatables deal?)

I wonder???? Who knows.........time will tell. But I'd guess they wouldn't but they may limit certain products to "non C4 Delaers" down the road.

" Control4 intends to fully support the Pakedge product-line for all Pakedge dealers, regardless of whether they are also Control4 certified dealers. "

Why is this acquisition synergistic to C4 and its dealers? Someone elsewhere spoke of Bakpak 3.0 and the need in resi for a superior network product that includes support. That I get but there are better alternatives, that include products that are more reliable.

Lol, I just had that conversation with springs.
Personally, I think someone was sold a bag of goods on this purchase

I like the direction C4 has been heading since they went public honestly. Card Access, EV, Leaf, and now Pakedge. Next? A security company? Interlogix? Houselogix? Bring it all in house. I have heard polarizing opinions on Pakedge over the years. People either swear on them or swear at them it seems. I would have almost expected them to have bought Luxul....maybe they offered and Jeff declined. Who knows.

Started the install of our first EA series controllers today. Will finish in a few weeks. So far, so good.

As of now they are still selling it. But you can get it for same or better pricing elsewhere.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were in a bidding war with Snap. I know Snap has their own stuff but from what I hear it needs help.

They should have bought Ihiji in my opinion. That or they need to pull backpak out of the network patroller and make is like OVRc.
