All, I've been using an Excel sheet that contains columns for all my electronic and network devices with information such as: MFG, vendor, date installed, serial number, MAC, IP, username, password, location, version, etc.
I have few hundred lines and try to keep up with everything I install/remote/test, etc.
I'm wondering how you guys deal with devices such as DVRs, where there may be multiple usernames, passwords?
I'm not fond of creating separate line for each one, as that could get messy. Would I copy all columns with the data? Should I only duplicate serial number and sort that way?
Should I just bite the bullet and create MSAccess database?
Are there basic programs that would do what I'm looking for?
I use LastPass, but that's not really a good way to keep track of all the columns listed above.
Here is a CSV of my column header: Date Installed,Date Purchased,Vendor,MFG,Model #,Version,Location,Price,Warranty duration,Serial #,Item,IP Address,Mac Address,Username,Password,Date Verified,Notes,
You could color the background of the serial number cell for each device with multiple passwords and usernames, then duplicate all info on that device and enter one username and password per line.
No matter how you sort such a list, you'd see which devices had more than one username or password.
You can sort by cell color, I just discovered, which would allow you to list only those devices with multiples.

With hundreds of devices in my database, assigning color to each would not be a viable option. I understand that you're suggesting only doing it for items that have multiple username/passwords, but between phones, tablets, computers, Roku, hulu, music, AppleTV, WAP, etc. that could still be too many to manage.
Unless I hear from others, I think MSAccess is going to be the way to go. See this short tutorial video I just found: ?t=1m5s
I recommend using a database. If you want to get into Excel scripting, you could improve the display format, but this would really be abuse of technology. We tend to use the familiar tool, even when learning to use a new tool would have great advantages.
Do you have a database of customer purchases? These fields could be an addition to your sales database.

My personal equipment list and client's purchases use the same Excel template (different files). The CSV list is from my working file.

You are going to have to do something to exactly that many devices in order to signal and track that there are multiple users and passwords. Let's say you add a field to your spreadsheet and put a check mark in it for each such device. It's actually easier to color the cell background than to do that.
