I've used Luxul products with positive results on mid sized jobs but when it comes to large homes I'm now pushing the Ruckus R600/700/710 series in conjunction with a Sonic Wall TZ400. This setup kicks serious ass!

Is this Luxul solution with the controller and all APs on the same channel considered an implementation of ZHO?

Yes, it's possible. I was doing 2.4 ghz only for a while because 5ghz range wasnt as far. But recently a I had a job she said the network would stop working from time to time.

She called and said wifi is out now. Get there my droid is working fine. So I bring in my laptop working fine. Every Apple product wouldn't connect to 2.4. I enabled the 5ghz, connected everything 5ghz 3 months with out a complaint

Has anyone tried the new XWR-3100 router. It has a wireless controller built-in to it that can support two APs? We ordered a system to test out.

Definitely plan to pair this with a Digital Loggers Web power switch so that the router and access point can be remotely rebooted.

Thought that this maybe a good solution for smaller houses that can't afford to pay $3,000 for a more powerful system that would be overkill.

Last month we installed the 3100 router with the built-in controller and two access points. Put one access point on the second floor, the router on the first floor, and the second access point in the basement. Got good coverage and good speed.

But, most importantly have had no problems and had not heard from the customer since we did the install.
If you are going to do the job...why not do it the right way?

They had a set of 3100's that were bad. Overall we have been very pleased with Luxul and their wireless controller.
