** Cross posted at IP **

Anyone have a write up on how to properly set this up? I tried to set this up according to how I believed it was supposed to work/be setup but was unsuccessful.

I'm not sure how to test this either, as the lights are supposed to turn on and off randomly.

What I did is:

Setup Timeclock -> Away

Selected every day with a fixed time of 7:30PM
I added 3 different room lighting devices at 100%

I then created a phantom keypad with a Vacation Mode button set to Timeclock Mode -> AWAY

I then transfer and press the Vacation Mode button on the phantom keypad.

That's the way I do it. I usually setup about 3 times a day for it to turn on lights like in the kitchen and living room throughout the day to make it look like some bodies home. Also you can set it to turn on randomly within 30 minutes of your set time so it doesn't always come on at the same time and just add some randomness in case some bodies watching the house.

Ok, so you are saying I can create the set time, in my case above, 7:30pm. Set it to turn in specified lights withing 30 minutes of that 7:30 time randomly.

Then setup some more scenes with different times, and if desired different lights?

Exactly. When you create a time clock in away, you can set it to away, alternate, or normal mode. When in away mode, it should be set to +/- 30 minutes. Then you just create a different event for each light you want to control for 7:30 and they should randomly come on. And the same same thing if you want them to turn off.

I was creating one event for all lights at 7:30. So create separate events for each light, all set for away?

You can make an event for all the lights but they'll all come on at the same time. I like to do them separately to make it look like some bodies home. It's up to you how you you think it's best.

Thanks for your help. I tested it out this morning and seems to be working. I had made the incorrect assumption that placing multiple devices in a single event would result in the system randomly turning those lights on and off. Creating the separate events works. Testing is fun since I have to just wait and see if it works. Thanks again.
