I have a client who has installed a pair of ceiling speakers that are wired back to the wall mount tv location instead of the equipment location. He was not aware that Samsung TVs don't have amplified speaker outputs. His last home had a plasma with speaker output terminals and he thought this was normal and wired accordingly.

Rerunning the cables is not an option so I need to find a small stereo amplifier that will sit behind the TV, which is to be fitted on a flat wall bracket. Doesn't need to be mighty, 20WPC will be adequate.

Currently I am struggling to find anything the right size and shape (basically as flat as possible) to fit. I seem to remember parasound did something small and flat but our UK distributor says not (?).

Anyone have any ideas?
What do you mean you wanted it on the other wall - couldn't you have mentioned this when we prewired?

Look at Russound TVA2.1. Was designed just for this.

Thanks Shoe, looks like there is no UK distributor though.

Question is now... Does his Samsung TV have an RCA audio output to drive these little amps?

Although looking at the TVA2.1, it looks like it has a TOSlink. So that should work with the Samsung.

Think about how you're going to control the volume.  If the TV only has fixed outputs you're going to have to use the remote that comes with the amp or a 3rd party remote.

Snap has optical too, but the Russound wins for being so skinny.

Is there a Parasound that fits?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Both have the ability to learn IR for volume, just hope the Sammy doesn't display 'not available' on commands if it's an older model...

ZAmp, but it's not remote controllable. Has auto turn on with signal, though.

Russound will do exactly what you want.

Here's a review that will explain how it works that some guy wrote.

That was the kiddy I was thinking of....for some reason my UK distributor doesnt know of it (or doesnt stock it!).

Good point raised about fixed volume level output from Samsung RCA's too.

On balance then the Russound looks the best bet. Just trying to get price and availabilty from UK disty as I haven't ever done anything with Russound other than remove it to fit something else!
