Directv has a dongle that will do component. Dish doesnt?

Nope. The DirecTV client boxes have that multi-pin connector which can do either composite or component cable out. The dish network client boxes(Joey, Joey 2.0, SuperJoey, 4K Joey) all have RCA composite jacks and HDMI out only.
