Well, the stadium got pretty quiet in the second half. Cam Newton ripping the 12th man flag and throwing it away was pretty low-class. I'm not butt-hurt, we still played a good second half after our adjustments. We will see you next season. Didnt we beat you 4 out of the last five games?

And yeah, I hate it when players hold out for tons of money, at the expense of the team and season.

How exactly does the design of our stadium that amplifies the crowd equate to cheating ??? Hahahaha See you next season.

We? When did they give you a contract? Stop the we shit unless you are required to show up to practice

Now, now, Fins. I'm sure Stanley has a story where he knew somebody or was doing a job for somebody from the Seahawks, and was asked advice for the team but the person was killed by a small dick gun owner on moonshine before he could give the advice to the team and Stanley could be hired up by the team for such outstanding advice.

This thread was started to mainly to get Stanley"s feathers up so I was just bashing his team a little and the stadium thing was just a plus. I kind of like it when they start out real loud and then start getting their butts kicked and the stadium and 12 th (wo)man gets real quiet. I don't take any of it real serious but Stanley crowed loud and often when his team was doing well, so its been fun giving it back.

And I have heard of home field advantage. The Panthers have enjoyed it every game in the playoffs this year!

I noticed the Seahawks were one circus play or lucky break from being eliminated constantly (like the Kearse catch in Super Bowl last year)...

Same thing with Green Bay this year. If you have to rely on last second luck over and over to tie up or win a game, you probably don't deserve to be there in the first place.

Packer fans are going wild, complaining about coin flips and non calls in their last playoff game, wanting the OT rules changed to college so both teams have a chance no matter what....

Seahawks fans cannot win a game that starts at 10am on the east coast, apparently. You know what? You should lock home home field so you don't have to worry about that. Don't like the fact that your team hasn't touched the ball in OT for two consecutive years, Packer fans?

Tell your defense to sack up and stop them. which is their job.

Yeah, we have had too many last minute miracle comebacks in the last few years. We are still hurting from last year's super - bowl last minute on the one yard line loss!!!!

I DO love watching football though. ANY GIVEN SUNDAY...

I think I'm a little mellower now that my GF is back, and I am retired...

But DAMN, I'm kinda bored to death already!!!! Guess I'll take up knitting... or travel east and visit Fins? 8>)

The NFC Championship is the first game where heisman trophy winners faced off in the playoffs

Old Age

[Link: a.video.nfl.com]

If the Cardinals make the super bowl, Arizona Assistant coach Tom Prat will have coached in both Super Bowl 1 for the Chiefs and Superbowl 50. Prat starting as an coach in 1957 for the Univerity of Miami. He is the only active NFL coach to have coached in the AFL. Arians pulled him out of retirement from his consulting job.

Tom Moore is 77 and started coaching in 1961.

Larry Zeirlein is 70. Arians pulled him out of retirement.

Arians himself was one of the oldest first time NFL head coaches at 61.

Arians was passed over and passed over and with his first chance he immediately started hitting up the retirement circuit which raised alot of questions initially about choosing him as a coach in the first place.

Arians paired a younger coach with each of the old guys (The Cardinals are pro-actively farming future coaches).

GM Steve Keim has allowed Arians to apply that to free agents as well. Chris Johnson's career seemed to be over. He was a leading rusher until he got injured (he is cleared to play should the cardinals make the superbowl). Dwight Freeney thought he was done playing until Arians called him in week 5 of the season. He's had as many sacks this year as he has in his last 3 years... combined.

So here's to the old folks. Go Cards!

Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line – Harold Goodwin 42
Quarterbacks – Freddie Kitchens 41
Running Backs – Stump Mitchell 56
Wide Receivers – Darryl Drake 59
Tight Ends – Rick Christophel 63
Assistant Offensive Line – Larry Zierlein 70

Linebackers – Bob Sanders 62

Lots of respect here for the Cardinals. I am really glad the #1 and #2 teams are meeting for the NFC Championship. However it turns out, it is definitely going to be a great contest between two great teams.

When my wife and I did a desert tour back in 2006 ( Grand Canyon, balloon festival, Monument Valley, Meteor Crater, etc. ), our last night in Phoenix we attended the first Monday Night Football game in the new stadium. It was the game with the Bears, and the Cardinals were getting beat bad until the last part of the game. The Bears fans in the stands were giving the Card fans a lot of crap and when the game turned the Card fans started giving it back. It erupted into several brawls in the stands. It was the game where, "They were who we thought they were" statement buy the Bears coach went viral. I had hoped to see the field going into the stadium, but they told me that people were not allowed to be there when they moved it in. They also told me they move it in a few days in advance of the game so I was probably driving Hwy 89(awesome driving road) when they moved it in.
That stadium is unbelievable! We enjoyed the area very much. I love spicy foods and you could buy habanero potato chips in a Quik Stop!!

I was at that game. Your memory has deceived you! Hard to believe that was 10 years ago. The 6-0 Bears offense was completely incompetent the entire game. There were a lot of fights before, early in the game and after the game. Kurt Warner was on the roster but viewed as washed up. Denny green was still committed to his first round draft pick Matt Leinert. The Bears fans were collosal dicks. Then Arizona went up 20-0. Most of the Bears fans had left the stadium before the end. Then Lienart did what he does. At the end of the game the Bears had no chance to win. With little time left the cardinals punted. I though for sure that az would kick it out of bounds at let the Bears offense flounder as they had all game. But no. They kick it directly to Devin Hester who returns it for a TD and the win.

Just after most of the Bears fans left the stadium the Bears began to rally. After the game that they had to finish listening to in the parking lot, hordes of Bears fans were waiting at the stadium exits and proceeded to start brawls.

I imagine a lot of those "fans" we're actually Chicago transplants living in Phoenix. Regardless, they were the lowest class of fans I've ever witnessed (I've seen NFL games in no less than 20 cities)

And then, Denny gave "the speech"

The cardinals were significantly better on the road than at home but the weather is going to significantly favor the panthers. If it's snow and ice it will significantly hinder arizonas offense. Taking the top off of defenses with deep shots to speedy receivers is their bread and butter.

My memory does suck. 10 years helps it suck. I wear a service shirt with my name on it so I can look down occasionally and remember who the hell I am! There is a supplement out there to improve the memory, but I can't remember what the hell it is.

That game was wild and the Bears fans were the worst I had ever seen too. There were fights all around us and my wife got concerned, but security did a good job and hauled them out. It was like going to a fight and a football game broke out. I'm glad my wife talked me out of wearing my Panthers jersey that night. It was a great way to top off our vacation.
