Today i got a call from a 708 number. Chicago suburb so i answered the call. Immediately hung up on. Second call someone said hello and hung up.

I decided to google the number like i always do. Then i decided to google my own number to see if its listed somewhere. The first hit takes me to a site called hanglid dot com where my number is listed with two people posting about my number supposedly calling them.

I have had this number for 10+ years and rarely get calls from people i don't know because i setup a google voice number that i use for everything. Even though its extremely rare...getting the call wasn't the weird part. The weird part is that the comments about by number are posted in the future...or thousands of miles away where my phone never makes calls.

It's 10:57 AM Mountain time. Screenshot.

Then it gets weirder. I go to the site and refresh and a new comment exists and the date and time adjusts so that they are all the same and further into the future. Another refresh added 2 more random comment. It's almost like they are pulling random comments from other sites or like they copied a couple dozen that get used as part of the scam. Normally when you look up a number all the comments are in sync about who they were when people answered or called back.

My best guess is that this is some new scam site that will attempt to get people to purchase lookup services

It is possible to hack caller ID. The number observed on a caller ID display may not be the actual originating number.

100% scam.

Do a Google search for "Same comment as Jonny Drexel". There are 2,100 results, all on different random phone numbers, and different random domain names.

Do a Google search for "had my son call in and check what was going on". 2,390 results, same as above.

The sites should be reported to Google so they get taken out of results.
