Being in Canada, our pricing is really, really high. We use Wattbox but the Candian distributor just raised their prices (again). To the point where it doesn't make sense to keep using them. (fyi, our cost is more than double the U.S.)

Does anyone know of something like them? I know there is Panamax BlueBolt but I really like the rack mounted box style that Wattbox has.

Maybe I have to bite the bullet and keep using them, idk.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Being the Canadian dollar is below $.70US can't really blame them. I've found all of the others to be more expensive. The bigger problem is we don't buy enough to get the best pricing out of the US manufacturers. When I lived in Europe and distributed product, we would get the same price as any US dealer. Made it hard to be competitive.

We use the DLI piece. For the price, it is great. And C4 has a driver for it to make it easy to do remote reboots, etc. We have had about 3 of them fail though. Not sure why. One was likely lightning related. Our demo unit failed, and one other randomly died. The scripting syntax takes some learning, but I have not had to dive into that with the C4 integration being as easy as it is. Autoping reboots are reliable and have saved us several truckrolls.

Wattbox with OVRC is nice, but much more $$. What I want is a vertical PDU with IP control. DLI used to make one but it has been disco'd. There are a couple options out there from APC and Tripplite. I think SurgeX may have one as well. But they are all $$$. If Snap would make a 48" 16 outlet strip with IP control for under $500, I think it would be a hit. Anyone agree? For racks, I like vertical. Some do not. Different strokes.

We have not used Bluebolt so I cannot comment on it. The Middle Atlantic stuff looks nice, but again, lots of $$, and I have not used it either.

I have that one. It's just a rebranded unit. I forget who the actual manufacturer was and they sell it cheaper too. Exact same thing.

Why would you risk anything to do with power related items to save your customer a few bucks vs. liability?

I cant imagine what the legal fees would be if your cheap non-UL listed product caused a fire would be......

Theres really no reason this should be more than $200 IMO. A fraction of that to make and rest is for engineering.

Need to consider that these guys have to host the back end too- be it Bakpack, Bluebolt, or OVrC.

WTF is up with the DLI website. It is HORRIBLE. Please tell them to stop the cheesy videos.

I was very interested in the line until I watched the POE injector page. Sad.

Why not hook up with a US Dealer and buy it from them?

Apparently you didn't make your way to the 24v PoE Injector video. It's acceptable!

On Amazon the critical reviews echo the same: high failure rate. Although I'm concerned about Ubiquiti's failure rate with WAP's I'm curious about their mPower Pro for small condo installs.
