Hello All,
I need something inexpensive to transmit VGA over cat5e. I have used the Gefen Piece before and it won't work for this application because I need something that is either powered up at the receiver (projector) end or something that is passive. I also looke at the videoease piece but it says you need Shielded Cat5e incase the computer and or projector do not have ground plugs. Pulling new cable is not an option. Did I mention it needed to be inexpensive.....
Thanks

I do not know what your definition of inexpensive is, but I know extron makes a widget that fits your needs. The one thing I have noticed on these devices is the distance that they will work, the lesser the expensive the shorter the distance.

What part of "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." do you not understand? |

Bitronics CatLink. About $800
Knoll US and UR-V3 Component video Balun, $200. Then a breakout cable if you don't need horizontal and vertical sync.
