What in the hell kind of deal has Amazon wrangled with FedEx, UPS, and USPS?

They are now showing Sunday by 8PM delivery via USPS....

Of course, that doesn't REALLY mean you'll actually get the item in two, or even three days....LOL

I ordered a couple small items Friday night. One delivered Sunday afternoon, the other made it Monday afternoon.

They all are partnered up. It will start with one carrier and then get handed off to another depending upon what it is and where it's going.

What did you order and where is the nearest distribution center?

Whatever you do, don't bring this topic up to my wife right now. A couple nights ago she went off because an order had an estimated delivery date of two days, it didn't show up then Amazon changed the delivery date to 4 days later. With Christmas, she is wound tight over this and won't relax until all presents are accounted for under the tree.

Amazon has been very bad the last few months with meeting their prime delivery dates. I've had many prime orders get to checkout and not even have a prime shipping option. And if they do, and I picked next day, it turn in to three days because they hand it off to the USPS

We don't get weekend delivery by Canada Post up here (we barely get weekday delivery these days)... so I was completely shocked the other week when the mailman showed up on a Sunday to deliver a parcel!

Thankfully a big Amazon.ca fulfilment center is right close by, so the standard free shipping is (more often than not) next day.

I had a problem with an Amazon order last week. I paid the extra for next day but it didn't show up. Called and cancelled.

Customer sent me an email on Saturday night adding a Roku 4. Ordered same day delivery on Amazon Sunday morming and Roku arrived Sunday night 7pm. Same day ..Sunday delivery at no extra charge. Customer impressed when I showed up on Monday morning with his Roku4.

No complaints from me on Prime delivery. We live near a major metropolitan area, Washington DC and always get Prime in two days or less. Many items are same day delivery ....order by 10am have it sent to my house and get it by 7pm that night.
If you are going to do the job...why not do it the right way?

No idea where all the distribution centers are. Order placed Friday around 5pm.

But, one item showed as being dropped off at a Kentucky location (it arrived Sunday noon), and the other showed as being dropped off in a town about 80 miles away (it arrived Monday afternoon around 4pm).

Amazon has always hit the delivery dates for me.  You do have to look at the fine print when ordering though. Even though some items are listed as Prime, they can have additional days added for processing.  With Christmas coming up, it looks like Prime shipping has changed to 4 days, and it tells you that when you order.

In Seattle here, where they are based, they now have one hour beer /wine delivery. Run out of beer during the game, dont want to drive to the store> NO PROBLEM!

And for the local pot heads, there is pot delivery to your house (not AMazon of course)... and a few places will even provide shuttle service to and from your place!

If the companies that deliver pot are smart, they'll also have "munchies" deliveries as well.

Probably make more money selling junk food than pot...LOL

It's not amazon's fault you are so old you can't remember your address.

Btw, there is a distribution center in Concord. Not sure how much they are shipping from there yet

A couple years ago we had a late night cookie business open up. They opperate from 2:00pm to 2:00am. They deliver hot gourmet cookies, brownies and milk. In a hippy college town, they are apparently making a killing. I imagine if the state would ever legalize pot, they will be able to franchise
