Has anyone seen or used this smart phone accessory yet? It looks pretty cool. It's a clip on piece (I assume laser range finder) and when you take a photo of something, you get distance from the object, plus dimensions of objects in the photo. It's easier to check out their site instead of me trying to explain it

I saw a commercial for it the other day. I am intrigued as well. I am mostly interested to see how the true real world accuracy pans out. At first glance it looks like it would be handy for a project manager or sales person to have for gathering quick and easy rough measurements for estimate and proposal purposes. But I would be surprise if it was really accurate. I have a box full of the latest and greatest wonders like this that turned out to be DIY toys that broke or were junk that never worked as advertised. So needless to say I have become skeptical.

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

Those seem like more trouble than they are worth because they don't look much cheaper than standard versions of the same products

As a general rule I don't put the Ryobi tools brand in the "top of class" bin.

The camera on a stalk phone accessory seems like a lot of trouble. One must pull out the accessory and get the phone App going.

The capability of sending and saving images might be very useful at times and the image resolution might be better than a native tool on a tight budget. From time to time, in tight quarters, the wireless link between phone and camera will be a plus. The remote viewing feature could be a great advantage when fishing from the other end of a wall. A down side will be image lag introduced by the transmission link between phone and camera.

And, I don't need yet another excuse to drain my phone's battery charge during the day. I guess that a plus feature for this sort of accessory could be a battery boost for the phone.

I'd need some hands on time with one of these gadgets before I'd commit to adding one to my tool bag.

Look how far off the measurements are in the video at your link. The garage door at the end. One dimensions almost a foot different
